This is against the law. Its against the law to show 3pm Saturday matches in this country, as to encourage people to go and watch matches. Although the Premiere League have completed messed that up this year when sometimes there's only 2 games on a Saturday.0

There is/was stuff on the sky sports website on it but I cant find it now but anyway regardless the Premier League have the rights who they sell the matches to, and what and when this can be broadcast in the UK.
There are certain 'blocked hours' where no football can be shown in this country. For example with BT vision you get access to Premiership highlights on demand EXCEPT during the 3pm match time slot.
Article 48 of the UEFA statutes deals with this:

There are blocked hours for every country. As you can see for England this is (exactly the same for Scotland too):
24.11.2007 – 26.04.2008
14:45 – 17:150 -

It is not against the law for a private individual to buy a genuine viewing card for the satellite service in question.
Showing it to the public in pubs is a different matter. The landlady who lost her case, was told she lost it under English Law, she is now going to Europe , where she will probably win her case.0 -
