Christmas bonus

Hello everyone and hope you're all having a lovely Christmas!!
I'm on Universal Credit and PIP and I'm sure I should be entitled to the £10 Christmas bonus this year but haven't received anything. I've had a search online and it said you should receive it the first week of December but not to contact anyone about it until January if you haven't received anything.
Has everyone else received their bonus or are other people still waiting? It's not going to break the bank if I don't get it but if I'm entitled to it then it will reimburse me for my Christmas Day taxi fares or go towards all my taxi fares getting to and from hospital in January.
Thanks in advance for any replies!

Have you double checked that one of your payments was not just £10 more than usual ? My OH received his as an separate payment but my mum's was just combined in with her usual weekly pension payment. I think it depended on whether they were normally due a payment at the start of December.
  • I got mine on the 22nd. Completely forgot I was entitled to it. Mum had hers on the 1st.

It's probably more automatic for pensioners; with UC it might need to be manually processed once your regular payment is confirmed. I doubt there'll be anyone TO contact about it till January anyway.

UC is not a qualifying benefit.

Was your December PIP payment (if you've had it) £10 more than normal?

    Okay, now I'm confused.

Did I get it because I'm a carer then? It's the only other explanation.

No, I know - you have to be on PIP or other qualifying benefit. As I said, I'm on both and neither were £10 extra. It says it will show up in your bank account as an extra £10 payment if you are receiving the relevant benefits in the assessment period which I was but haven't received the payment.

Sometimes it's bundled in with the usual benefit payment, sometimes it's sent as a separate £10.

I receive ESA & PIP, my first ESA payment in December is £10 extra.

If your qualifying benefit is PIP then it might be sent as a separate payment. You should have had it by now but will need to phone PIP to chase it up.
  • I've checked my UC and PIP payments for December and both were the normal amount and been through my transactions on my banking app and definitely no extra payment received.
Confused over who to contact about it though! Google search says to contact my local Job Centre Plus but the Job Centre has nothing to do with PIP or the other qualifying benefits???

As PIP is your qualifying benefit it will be paid as an extra payment and should show in your bank as DWP PIP. My daughter claims the same benefits as you and this is how she received hers. If it's definitely not there then you'll need to ring PIP.
