So I need to upgradeWhat's the cheapest (acceptable) way to upgrade to Office 2024 pro plus (lifetime licence) - again NOT on-line ?Groupon ?Any downsides to this version ?Why do you need to update? What features of a newer version do you want/need. I have and use Office 2010 and it does everything I need it for.I sometime think people upgrade just to have the latest version but do nothing different when they get it.I have Office 2000 on a desktop that I was given after someone bought it and stuck it in a cupboard. Don't use it very often but it works fine .Grey_Critic said:MouldyOldDough said:I understand that MS has decided that my Office 2016 pro plus lifetime licence (NOT on-line) is too old and has stopped providing updates. Because I had a Pro Plus version bought, legitamitly through my employers some 10 years ago (2016) and 2016 is now not supported by MS updates
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -

Yes - but £8.82 ?

Almost certainly a genuine Office key.MouldyOldDough said:molerat said:Many of those codes from Groupon etc come with a 50/50 chance of stopping working after a few months. Why do you need "MS Office", there are several free options that are 99% the same as the real thing.

Certainly being sold in contravention of Microsoft's Licencing rules for anyone who sells or uses their products.

Likely to do with this:flaneurs_lobster said:Paid-for MWB on Windows box - something weird, my screenshot extension (Awesome Screenshot) won't take a picture of the page with the message? Looks like a generic "we stopped access for your protection" message, Windows is also complaining about being unable to supply a secure connection.
My phone (free MWB) has no problems accessing the site. This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks. The action you just performed triggered the security solution. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.0 -

I write Risk and Method statements together with various H&S items and have no problems.
I did ask what features (if any) are on the latest version and do you need them.

If you are just doing basic stuff with Word and Excel documents then your cheapest option is to switch to LibraOffice or one of the other free office packages. They are free so if you are worried about compatibility with your existing documents you have lost nothing by downloading and trying them out.
