Cheapest way to upgrade from Office 2016 pro plus

I understand that MS has decided that my Office 2016 pro plus lifetime licence (NOT on-line) is too old and has stopped providing updates. So I need to upgrade
What's the cheapest (acceptable) way to upgrade to Office 2024 pro plus (lifetime licence) - again NOT on-line ?
Groupon ?
Any downsides to this version ?

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Many of those codes from Groupon etc come with a 50/50 chance of stopping working after a few months.  Why do you need "MS Office", there are several free options that are 99% the same as the real thing.

Why do you need to update? What features of a newer version do you want/need. I have and use Office 2010 and it does everything I need it for.

I sometime think people upgrade just to have the latest version but do nothing different when they get it.
I have Office 2000 on a desktop that I was given after someone bought it and stuck it in a cupboard. Don't use it very often but it works fine .

What are you meaning by "not online"?

Pretty sure that any new install of Office will need you to go online with a Microsoft account to register it before it will activate.

The Microsoft account could, I guess, be a new one-off created solely for this purpose and never used again.

My take on this was that the OP meant "not MS 365". That was only an assumption, though.

    Look here:
    https://softwaresupply.net/product/microsoft-office-2024-professional-plus-for-windows/ £12 using promo code.
    https://softwaresupply.net/product/microsoft-office-2024-professional-plus-for-windows-5devices/
    £24 using promo code.
    It's guaranteed to work.

For reasons of their own, a poster here decided to try to deliberately mislead you, even though they purchased a heavily discounted 365 account from a similar vendor as above, seven years ago. Theirs still works, but they decided to try to push you in another direction, to pay full price. Merry Christmas  :)

I'd check out that link but unfortunately Malwarebytes says it's iffy. Can't think why.

Neither can I. Are you paying for Malwarebytes, as nothing is indicated on my device with the free version?
    Post a screenshot.
  • Paid-for MWB on Windows box - something weird, my screenshot extension (Awesome Screenshot) won't take a picture of the page with the message? Looks like a generic "we stopped access for your protection" message, Windows is also complaining about being unable to supply a secure connection.

My phone (free MWB) has no problems accessing the site.
