If anyone has even partially followed my personal commentary, they'll have soon realised that two of my flaws are overthinking, and the pursuit of perfection.

I have now settled on a pencilled in 'plan' for my financial affairs going forward. I have, for the time being at least, landed on a more prudent approach. Instead of rapidly winding down my savings accounts in order to squeeze the most amount of interest possible, minimise tax, and leaving it as late as possible, I have begun the pruning activity in this tax year. In my gut I feel like it is sensible to have as much distance from this activity as is viable, away from my future UC application. I'm not doing anything untoward, and there's nothing I need to hide, but I just don't feel like having a list of savings accounts as long as my arm recently closed before a UC application would be the smartest of moves. It might just pique interest (pardon the pun), and I'd prefer my application to be boring, rather than interesting.
