LACK OF FIBRE PROVIDERS ON THE COMPARE BROADBAND DEALS PAGE

I have recently had a doorstep visit from Connect Fibre regarding their deals yet find no information about them on the site, yet they look to have a lot of good reviews on trustpilot. They also do not come up on a search for best Broadband in my area on the compare broadband deals page of this site. Why is this?

There are lots of small, niche providers that don't appear on the comparison sites. Perhaps they're one of those?N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Kirk Hill Co-op member.Ofgem cap table, Ofgem cap explainer. Economy 7 cap explainer. Reading their website, it looks as though they install their own fibre network rather than using any BT/Openreach network that may already be installed to the pole etc.medievalbiker said:I have recently had a doorstep visit from Connect Fibre regarding their deals yet find no information about them on the site, yet they look to have a lot of good reviews on trustpilot. They are a network and ISP , no other brands/ISPs are available on Connect Fibre , just their own in house ISP , IMHO the website isn’t helpful , they don’t actually publish prices , just what the first 6 months cost (perhaps it’s better if you input a valid postcode )
…..if they don’t feature on comparison sites it’s no doubt because they don’t pay the comparison site to be included (that’s how comparison sites make their money) and as a relatively tiny niche provider it’s unlikely there will be much information/customer reviews about them , of the reviews that are available you always need to be careful they are authentic and not written by their own staff .1 -
There might be more to this than just the OP's observation with Connect Fibre.
Only this evening, I was doing a comparison site search for a new phone line and the only results were Virgin Media. Exactly the same with a second comparison site.1 -
Most of my results on the MSE comparison site are Virgin, who don't even supply my address!Grumpy_chap said:There might be more to this than just the OP's observation with Connect Fibre.

In my village Openreach have no superfast fibre and installation not going to happen soon, no Virgin but now at least four superfast fibre providers with speeds up to 900GB. None of these appear on any comparison site I looked at. If comparison sites rely on those who pay being the only ones who appear it then they aren't worth the candle 😥2

Niche company, but that often means they'll look after their customers. Just had a look as I am due to renew mine, I would switch to them in a heartbeat if I could.1

I am with Gigaclear who installed their own fibre network in the village I live in. I started on an 18 month contract at £19 per month (Jan 2023) this increased to £21 in October 23 (10.5% increase). In July 24, the best price they would offer me was £25 (19% increase) followed by a £3 hike to £28 (12% increase). In three years they have hiked my monthly cost by 47.3%. Now at renewal again, the best price they offer is £32 (14.2%) with a £3 increase in April (9.3%). This would equate to an 84.2% hike in 40 months!
Trying to haggle is futile as they just tell me that they are the only company who can offer me full fibre.
I think it is time to go back to part fibre, although nearly all will raise prices way over inflation during a two year contract!
When is somebody going to stop this cartel (as they are all doing it) from continuing to rip people off?0 -
