Am I correct in thinking Smarty Sim monthly only kicks in when I activate the sim.

Hi,
Buying something from Amazon and wanting to avail of free delivery at £35 I bought a Smarty sim for 5p, now I can get free delivery from Amazon.
From what I have read online the monthly charge only kicks in for the Smarty sim once I activate it, which hopefully is correct, unless somebody knows differently as I have done the same thing again?
Thanks for any clarification.

Who was the 5p seller on Amazon?
If they don't have your card details then they can't bill you.
Buy that SIM from Smarty's website then you pay for the first month's usage up front but the billing doesn't start until you activate it.

Thanks it was a Smarty sim, I was 1p short of getting free delivery from Amazon, think delivery was £4.99 so the 5p Smarty sim from Amazon seemed a good idea to save on postage. Yes Thanks for confirming that unless I activate the sim I won't be charged.0

That's not what I meant.anotherquestion said:Yes Thanks for confirming that unless I activate the sim I won't be charged.
If whoever you bought that SIM from (who is shown as the seller on Amazon - Smarty?) does not have your card details then you can't be charged. I've no idea if the purchase of a SIM via Amazon gives them the right to make a further charge to whatever payment method you used for your other purchase(s).
If you had bought the SIM from Smarty on their own website then you would have had to make the first month's payment up-front.
The billing (the accounting for minutes and MB used) would not start until you activated the SIM.1
