Spot the townie! Some of us don't live in and avoid if at all possible towns and cities. So how would we notice CEX shops?Desmond_Hume said:Never heard of CEX? Do you walk about with your eyes closed?0 -
To get back on topic...jasonwatkins said:Well that escalated..
Got a call from my local CEX and the manager asked me to come in so off I went.
Apparently the investigation is already complete because they viewed the CCTV footage and saw that the day before I bought the phone it was shown to a traveller who switched it.And that was the entirety of what the manager told me as well in case anyone does feel the urge to ask more questions.
Anyway, I have to go back there tomorrow to return the fake phone and I will receive a full refund so to say I’m relieved is a little bit of an understatement.
Thankyou to everyone who got involved in this thread and gave some excellent advice.
It's good to hear that the OP has had a positive ending to this.
I'm not sure the presence (or not) of CEX style shops on cities and towns high streets is relevant.2 -
I hope not.flaneurs_lobster said:

People buy fireworks. Literally, money going up in smoke. They buy alcohol, and there's no level of drinking alcohol that is safe. What can you do...?Chief_of_Staffy said:
How much is your Rolex worth in 50 years? Five times what you paid. How much is your phone worth in 5 years? Nothing. Your definition of 'valid choice' appears to differ from mine, and on a money saving site too.QrizB said:Chief_of_Staffy said:Sorry, I'm still stuck on the "I spent £1.8k on a phone" bit.People spend £20k or more on wristwear, when you can get a perfectly adequate watch for 0.1% of that.Spending £1800 on a phone is a valid choice of you've got that much disposable income.

It is his money to spend as he wishes just as you spend your money as you wish.Curiosity2017 said:

Nowhere does it state what benefit money can be spent on.2 -
