Evening all,
Well I've done not very much at all today. Watched TV and chilled. I went into the garden for about an hour but it's been raining on and off. Made a ratatouille for dinner and feel slightly better. But have still got a bit of a headache and exhaustion (which I feel at this point doesn't really ever leave me).
Good news is it was a nsd because my therapist cancelled our session. Oddly enough she had the same reason as my massage therapist did 🤔. So it's been a NSD and a home day.
I'm not sure if it's a bug or me just feeling run down. I think probably the latter. I don't want to go to work tomorrow but that's more because I just don't want to be there as opposed to me feeling too sick. 🙈 I'll see how I feel in the morning. I feel a balance needs to be found atm for good mental health and physical health both of which are being hugely impacted by work.
~~~
I sent my mum a text. Unsure if she still has the same number though. 🎂
I sent DS2 a text this morning wishing him good luck on his biology exam. He messaged back and said thank you. Didn't hear back from him this afternoon though when I asked how it went.
My therapist would probably tell me to stop trying to reach out to people who don't want to engage 🫣 but as she cancelled I have no one saying that to me.
DD is freaking out over her Eng Lit A levels tomorrow too ...exams everywhere around me at the moment (lots of students resitting theirs too).
DP is putting the last few slabs in at the mo. He's having to cut these ones to size so they're a bit of a pain. I hope he's done soon as I think he's just as fed up of getting the garden ready as me right now 🙈. However, the patio looks great. Well the main part....he is just finishing the path way up the side of it.
Two weeks today and it's our wedding 💒...
The wedding is coming around so quick. Love the sound of the plans. Hope you feel much better today.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
Thanks @watty1
Well I'm home again. I got up to go to work and DP told me to stay home. I said I felt bad letting people down when I'm not super sick. He said, you are sick, with stress. That's true. He talked me into staying home. I rang work and left a message. I then rang them back as I couldn't recall whether I'd pressed the hash key to send the message. I'm so distracted lately ☹️. Memory is awful. My Fitbit has asked me so many times this last week if I'm feeling ok...'check in, how are you feeling?' I am stressed. I'm tearful quite a bit because I feel overwhelmed and stuck. I also take on stress of other people around me and my team has dissolved from working well together to sniping and stressy atmosphere. I'm glad I didn't make it to the team meeting this morning... I am seeing why the last two people in my role both quit within three months. One stating she had a better job to go to but I do recall the other one saying, I'm not paid enough for this. That's true. I will go in tomorrow though. My stress can't disappear in a couple of days so I will just have to manage it.
Therapy doesn't really help much yet. I mean I thought we'd get to some techniques by now to help me but ... ?
It's raining outside so no sitting in the garden today. I really hope the weather picks up soon. I've had no more RSVPs and I put yesterday as the final date so it looks like around 30 people coming which is a nice number I think. And I said to DP if none turn up I'm not going to let it ruin my day. I remember getting RSVPs for my first wedding and on the day people just didn't bother coming. I was so upset. But this time is different and I want it to be about just me and DP. Before I was too busy trying to people please… Won't be making that mistake again 🙂🫶🏻.
I have about a dozen pairs of shoes that turned up from n3xt for me to try on and I've not had the energy to do it. I'm going to make that my goal today. To get up and shower, and whilst in the dressing room try the dress on with all the shoes I've ordered to find a pair that fit. The pair I had that suited were just too high. I think my days of high heels are over. It causes too much pain in my bad foot. So I've ordered similar ones but with a very low heel instead. 🙂🙏🏻 Praying there is something there I like. Then I'm sending the rest back before I get charged like £700 for shoes 🤔😆.
I've tried all the shoes on 👏🏻🤗 found a comfy pair I like. Odd that I got all the same size and some were too big and some not. They were varying amounts of comfy too and I confess to liking three pairs and choosing the comfiest of all three to keep 😊. I've officially reached that age I said I'd never get to where I allow comfort to supersede what looks best..and I don't even care 💅🏻 🫶🏻😁.
@beanielou DP would agree with you..he's told me to just walk and quit. 🙈
I've watched a programme on N3tflix about gut health and it's yet another reminder I need to sort my diet out. 🫣 I keep reading about links between health- autoimmune disease and gut. Depression and gut. Overweight and the gut....and so on and so forth 🫣. I think this really needs to be my focus over summer. I can then get these health issues into check (hopefully).
It's absolutely chucking it down here so no gardening today...also don't need to water the grass seeds 👏🏻.
Glad the shoes worked out and as I understand it, the reason that the same size shoes will fit differently is that they all have different lasts or templates, some of which suit our individual feet better than others. Different materials with different stretch or slip characteristics adds to that variation.
Good luck with the gut re-set. What kind of tactics are you going to use?
