I made it in to work. Got in early, at my desk by 8, so I could leave at 4:30. I was knackered by around 12 and limped through to the end trying to stifle yawns and eyes dropping. Turns out lots of people at work have been/ are off poorly with similar issues of dizziness and hot cold flushes, exhaustion.... because of all my other things going on in my body I struggle to understand what is an illness and what is just my usual things playing up. Should've had the rest of the week of eh, but never mind..I felt guilty and like I wasn't sick enough to be home…just tomorrow to get through.
I'm getting
mildlyvery worried about the weather. We've had hail, thunder and pouring rain the last couple of days and our garden party is in less than two weeks 😫.No exam for DD today she was revising in school. DS had maths as far as I know. Lots of stressed kids around me at work and home 🙈 I remember the stress from GCSEs but I am certain none of us stressed as much as the kids do now. 🤔. We had a few in tears at work because they felt they'd failed. We tried to explain it's okay, it can be sat as many times as they like it's not the end of the world. We got the looks of, are you stupid. Of course it's the end of the world 🙈🤔😂.
NSD again. Good job as coffers runneth dry....

Evening all, just a quick one as super tired and off to bed soon… wedding plans are well underway here in DFW household...we have the RSVPs back so have amount finalised (I still had a few who were umming and ahhing to me on Fri and I set a deadline of today....think it's super cheeky if you can come, come. If not just let me know for gawds sake).
We've spent a small fortune but then we never really had a budget. Probably shouldn't confess that on here 🤣🙈🫶🏻. I reckon once we've bought food and drinks we'll be at around, ooo, do you know I'm not sure. Let me go with £3500 - that's a TOTAL guesstimate to be honest and I will actually sit down one day and see how far wrong I am.🤣 We've had a patio, bench, skip, and decorations and outfits with that as well as food (inc professional cake) and drinks and paying for DS van hire..and I'm hoping I'm massively overestimated there. I got some fantastic bargains from the charity shop earlier for table decorations/ things to put food in. Lots of lovely glass and some crystal and some bamboo type sandwich platter things. Cost less than £35 for loads of it. And when I'm done it will either be sold on again or I'll put in my display cabinet (think probably a bit of both). The wedding has taken on a very boho vibe and I've got random pieces of decorations and lots of flowers in little random jars / vases everywhere 🤣🪻💕. The cake is being sorted by my friend who has her own cake business and I spent a small fortune just on ingredients (mainly fresh edible flowers) 😬😐😬.
Ahem, anyway, moving on....
DP and DD are not well. I was unwell last week after all.. however when these symptoms of unwell are the usual for me lately I can't separate one from the other… I'm still very wobbly and tired now. DP has been exhausted today and that's so unlike him. DD is tearful and tired too. Hopefully it will all be out of the way soon.
Next week I'm trying to manage work commitments with some downtime. As well as wedding prep in the evening (simple things like making the favours and making shopping lists, tidying just one area a day to make sure it's all good by weekend etc etc).
I get paid on Friday and it can't come soon enough to be honest.
Oh and the patio... DP has just got to finish small bits on it like edging and it's done. It's a wrap around patio and path around 4m deep I reckon by probably double that across then the path which is around 1.5m X 6m it's no wonder it's taken him so long.
I'm so glad that after the wedding I will have five days to chill before work. I just hope DS 1&2 and DD aren't wanting to be entertained because I won't have the energy in me to do that. I think DS1 is leaving on wed or Thurs and DS2 will need driving back to Essex. 300 mile round trip 😐.
Anyway, book, bed for now.

That’s not a crazy amount when you consider a lot has gone towards the garden which you can enjoy for years onwards (or as long as you stay). Hope the next week isn’t too stressful and you can enjoy looking forward to your big day ahead x

I agree, whilst that was "wedding spends" a lot of it was actually "house spends".
Now - very firm Watty with WattyDog beside her trying also to look firm (but easily distracted with a ball or a stick or a stone) please will you go and see your doctor and get yourself signed off? Or self certify for a week?
Stress and being ill is featuring far too much around these boards and some of us (I am including self) need to start taking this a little bit more seriously. Don't just walk out because once you have had the wedding and recovery time for yourself and a chance to do the things that you know will help, I am sure you will be back to the job that you are good at.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
Agreeing with Watty about a lot of the spends being house spends 😊
Also agreeing with Watty about you needing more downtime before the wedding. If you don't feel able to ask the GP for a sick note / self-cert, could you ask your boss for some unpaid leave? TBH though, you do sound ill, your household is ill and your colleagues have all been ill too. It's not wildly unreasonable that you need some sick leave in the midst of all of this is it … 🤷🏻♀️
With a bit of luck, DS1&2 and DD will entertain each other. It would be nice if you could be rested enough to enjoy your time with your sons though …

Afternoon all 💕
Well we're in a bit of a busy period in the DFW house. DD is in the midst of a levels and intense revision, which results in me coming home from work and DD demanding attention of me for hours on end to recite her revised work to. I've not wanted to say no because I know she's nervous, but, I'm so very tired I'm hanging on by a thread of adrenaline I think keeping me going. She's cried over one exam, felt another went awful but when she came out she'd done ok after having a session with teacher and other students on correct answers...and another one tomorrow will probably be her worst I think it lasts around 4 hours. 😬....
Work, well I've been asked to think about what days I'd like to do which was nice as I thought it might be dictated to me when I was needed in September. So I've been offered mon,.tue and wed morn. Or wed morn then Thur Fri (two full days and one half).. I'm erring towards the front end of the week to work and the back end of the week off. As I feel if I do wed-fri I will no doubt spend my Wednesday afternoon thinking about what needs to happen tomorrow whereas if wed morn is my last working day I can just switch off (is the plan) until next week.
Wedding plans are well underway. Patio looks amazing 😍 well compared to the mud heap that was there before I suppose anything would look amazing 🤣 but he's done a great job. DP had Mon - wed off this week so he's tied off lots of jobs,.filled skip, emptied carport. We absolutely need another skip but that can happen another time. We got rid of the worst of it. The summer house is boarded off as not safe rather than rushing to get It completed now. And just food. I cannot find veggie mini sausage rolls anywhere so I'm thinking I will need to make them. I have to collect DS on Saturday so I'm pushed for time really but needs must. I will get the ingredients and look to cook them at the weekend.
I have my hearing aid finally. And she was trying to talk me out of having it saying my hearing loss wasn't bad enough. She switched it on and did the calibration etc and then said, I'll talk normally now and see if you can see a difference. I was like why are you so loud? 🤣 I could actually hear her without needing to lip read for confirmation of what she was saying (as I always usually do). So I felt it was working. I went to a student after and she's super shy and quiet and I heard every word she said. I usually get maybe every tenth word. I immediately could feel tension of being unable to hear and stressing about it leaving my body. And it made me a bit cross that they probably talk others out of having one when they're only borderline like me. It's already made a difference to me. They're itchy though and I have a headache as I'm able to hear so many things I can't usually hear. Hoping that after climatisation it will be good.
Not long left today thankfully. Really not doing good. I know I should just have called in. I'm just unable to let down so many people 😐. I'm probably better off just keeping on now anyway until the wedding otherwise I will crash before that and that won't be good. Tomorrow I have a massage booked so my holiday officially will start at 3:15 I've decided. I've already worked enough extra this week to do this without feeling bad. 😊 So not long to go.....
This evening I'm making wedding favours and a shopping list for Mr T for the weekend. I guess party food prep is mainly happening on Sunday now so need to get shop on Saturday really.

Counting down the hours now!! 😊
For the veggie sausage rolls, could you buy qu0rn cocktail sausages and stick them in some pastry? That'd be a fairly quick option.
Really pleased that the hearing aid made such a difference to you 💖
