Thanks again buddy9.  I've got the form completed.  What do I need to do to sign and docquet the will?

The docquet needs to have the same date as the C1.

Once Confirmation is issued for Mum you need to apply for appointment as executor dative for Dad's estate before you then apply for the next Confirmation. Has the solicitor agreed to do the executor application for you as well?

Yes, they are dealing with everything relating to dad.  Thanks again buddy9, you've been a great help.

    Hopefully my last question.
My mum's  building society accounts were held in joint names with my sister.  Does this affect the inventory?

If confirmation was required to access the money in a building society account then the inventory would ideally have a full description perhaps including account holders’ names, account number and sort code etc.

You have advised that this was a joint account. If your sister (as joint account holder) has access to the cash then presumably there is no need to produce a confirmation certificate. If so, the inventory description needs only to pass the scrutiny of the court.

As an afterthought - I presume that you are aware that the reference to a land register title of INV 00000 was merely a prompt and there is a need to enter the specific number relative to the property.

Yes I was aware we need to enter the reference.

My sister does have access to the cash so is it better to leave it as is or should we remove the reference to the cash?  It would look a little odd to me if we removed it and it showed that my mum had no cash.

You need to keep the entry for the money in the account. It was your mum’s. The entry is also part of the statement of prior rights entitlement which is necessary where a double confirmation is involved.

My final post on here to say thanks again to buddy9. We submitted the C1 on Monday 19th January and on Thursday the 22nd received a phonecall to tell us the confirmation has been granted and we could pick up the certificate.

We could never have done it without buddy9's help. Thank you very much.
