If you meant "expired", then you would have had a refund cheque sent from DVLA.B0bbyEwing said:Nope.
Tax & MOT exp towards end of Sept.
If you meant "will expire", then you haven't yet. You should have had. But tax always expires at the end of the calendar month.0 -
I know what I said and what I said was correct.
I never said I didn't get a refund so I'm not sure why this was brought up. It's like one of those times when a thread/line of questioning goes a bit far/off point & you're just left wondering.........why? If I brought it up then I get it but I didn't.
They expired towards the end of September. It was quicker saying that than saying
Tax is showing as due 24th Sept
MOT expired 22nd Sept.
For full clarification (and the tut-tutters will come out now) ... the car had the accident in April. I ran the car until the end of its MOT because it could still drive. I just needed to keep on top of the coolant & cable tie the bumper. Once the MOT ran out I got a refund on the tax so that I wasn't paying for October.
I know I know ... I should've had the insurance contacted in April & all that, but I didn't & that's just how it is.
Which is a very long winded way of saying the MOT & tax stopped in September, but then I'm not even sure why that needs discussing for the question at hand.
Suppose that makes me Mildly Miffed, maybe

Depends on the vehicle, many arent economical to repair when paying commercial labour rates and for brand new parts but can make pocket money for someone who's already got the spare parts from scrap yards and doesnt have to pay for labour. Alternatively scrap yards buy it to either break for parts or sell for recycling... sometimes cars are worth more in bits than they are whole but you may be sitting on the stock for a long time.B0bbyEwing said:First off - this sold has me curious. Sold to who?
The bumper was mushed & whatever other damage went on behind the bumper, if any. Car would've been worth maybe £1500 private sale but they decided on £800.1
