Still entitled to go to another hire firm if they cannot offer an appropriate replacement vehicleQrizB said:

MyRealNameToo said:So you've hired a car at over £125 per day rather than the circa £40 a day you could have hired it privately for and you think you can get more money on top? You either claim for a hire car or you claim for inconvenience of not having a car you can't claim for both.If enterprise didn’t have a suitable car why not go to a different hire firm? All offer an accident management service because they can charge 3x the going rate for their vehicles.
There is a chance a claim for more expensive fuel could be successful if it's modest but likely to be paid out of the go away pot than accepted as a genuine head of claim.I don’t know the charges - this car is being provided by my insurance company at no cost to me, as it’s a non-fault so I just took what was available to get back on the road. If I choose another rental company or go for my own I’ll need to pay for full rental costs hence why I went with insurance provided one - but they should really be giving like for like as per terms and conditions so that’s why I wasn’t sure about the petrol charges.
Still deciding whether to take to Hyundai approved garage or stick with insurance suggested one as the current garage is closed until Jan 5 so I have time still. I would have peace of mind with Hyundai garage but risk is that it could be further delayed and potential of estimate being declined as it’s too high.0 -
What your saying doesnt add up... if its a vehicle provided under the terms of your policy it will only be available if you have them deal with the repairs to your vehicle and normally is only provided once that has been set in motion.lon_85 said:MyRealNameToo said:So you've hired a car at over £125 per day rather than the circa £40 a day you could have hired it privately for and you think you can get more money on top? What it sounds like instead is that you have a credit hire car and someone has simply sold passed your details to Enterprises credit hire arm.
Hyundai's accident management service are unlikely to be very interested if you are already in hire from someone else as thats where they make the real money.1 -
Yes that’s correct I’ve decided to go ahead with the garage that my insurance company have suggested now, so they are currently checking the car. They have given my details to Enterprise to provide me with the car, they don’t have any other vehicles at present though so I’ll just have wait.0
