Its not about predicting something bad will happen, its joining an organisation and paying a small contribution to support you in case. If you knew something would happen then the fee would be much higher as its a definite.Fedcas65 said:

Same as insurance, you don't buy once you know there's an issue, you buy ahead of time in case.1 -
Trade unions can only advise on something that occured when you were a member in Good Standing , some TUs will provide 'local' support for those who join as someothing is announced or who were not yet in Good Standing whe something occured ... ( although Many TUs now offer Day 1 cover or cover from the first of the next month rather than cover fro mthe month after your first subs were paid )Fedcas65 said:
