System collapse

I’m looking for advice from others who’ve dealt with 24/7 Home Rescue.

After an engineer visit, I was left with no heating or hot water. There were repeated investigations, a promised repair visit that didn’t happen, and the issue remained unresolved.

I’ve now arranged an independent emergency repair due to winter conditions.

Has anyone successfully claimed reimbursement via the Ombudsman in similar circumstances?

I don't think anyone in similar circumstances would be able to comment due to the total lack of detail as to what happened.

Timescales are important, but I imagine the answer to your question about money is no.

I had a similar problem with British Gas a few year ago (OK 20 +) - we had just had them out servicing our boiler (we had BG insurance cover) then less than 6 hour later, the fail safe valve FAILED and the pressure built up and the boiler exploded at about 11pm.... water everywhere and electricity tripped....
After a phone call - BG did not want to attend but, after threats of legal action they did and my wife was sent a huge basket flowers as compensation !
We have had nothing to do with BG since that evening.

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.
