British Gas leaving a vunrable adult with No internal stop tap

British Gas recently installed a new boiler at my mother’s house. She’s 87, suffers from arthritis, and has limited eyesight, making her vulnerable. During the installation, which was booked for a full day, the engineer had trouble with the internal stop tap not restoring the water. It’s a Surestop, easy for her to use. His solution was to remove the stop tap and replace it with a straight copper pipe, telling her that in an emergency she’d have to go out into the road to turn off the water. He left by 2:30 PM and be honest she did not really understand what he meant .
I’ve filed a complaint with British Gas for leaving a vulnerable adult without a way to shut off the water in an emergency—very poor service.

This is probably better suited to the praise and vent bit of the forum unless there is a particular question? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1
