Tariff comparison sites?

I'm about to be made redundant and have been searching for a mobile phone and contract to replace my existing (work-owned) phone. I don't know about anyone else, but the main purpose of the sites I have found seems to be to confuse the consumer... :confused:

If anyone has found a good comparison site I'd be really grateful - it doesn't seem to have been covered by Martin anywhere on MSE.

I don't want a flashy phone with lots of gizmos - just one that works abroad and won't cost me a fortune. A lot of my calls / texts are to Orange, but I do call other networks and landlines - I'm a light user as I have a landline too and send a moderate no. of texts (5 -10 per day). Any help or advice from fellow moneysavers who have researched this area would be much appreciated.
