I just got a reply from my MP this morning and he stated within his reply -
"I will not now be able to add my name to the motion until Parliament returns after recess, but will do so at my first opportunity."
That was from Danny Alexander, MP for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -
I've also sent a version of SB's letter to our MP - Kenneth Clarke. Let's see what response comes from that ...Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0

Had a nice postcard through the post from Mr Clarke today, thanking me for my letter to which he will be responding as soon as possible (OOO! get him!)
Looking forward to seeing what he thinks!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0 -
It is nice to note that there is at least one signatory to the EDM from every political party in the House (except Sinn Fein who don't participate in Parliamentary business). :j0

I've had a reply (the second in fact) from Ken Clarke today. He wrote to Tessa Jowell who has responded basically saying it has nothing to do with the government and we should approach the Advertising Standards Agency. That is the oversimplified version, but I figured noone would want to read the whole thing word for word. Sadly, reading her letter, which he has enclosed, it says that the broadcasters can decided on the suitability of an ad and the ASA will only deal with specific advert complaints.
Any news from elsewhere?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0 -
I wrote to the ASA and complained about this and they replied "that there was no evidence that it was harmful to children" well I THINK THEY ARE WRONG!!!!! :mad:fairylights wrote:I've had a reply (the second in fact) from Ken Clarke today.
