What a busy day I've had - hardly stopped.

Got a little break so thought I'd pop on here and catch up for a bit.

The OP came off my mortgage balance so it was lovely to see that go down.

    It's now around £34k.

Been thinking I've got so much stuff in this house that I could sell then use the money to make extra OPs. Will get the place tidied up and start digging through a cupboard at a time.

Supposed to be in the office today and tomorrow but decided to WFH.

B&L will be out at lunch time the next 2 days with the dog walker so my lunch break will be spent doing housework and organising.

I've decided instead of looking at the whole place to tackle one cupboard at a time.

When the dogs leave I'm gonna clean up the living room then my bedroom and I am going to start tackling the bedroom cupboard one bag or box at a time. Let the decluttering and selling commence.

Determined to sell enough to pay off 2 months of my mortgage - go big or go home right!

Meetings went on much longer than I thought so had a quick 15 minutes to throw some food in my face and the next 2hr meeting is just about to start.

Will get some tidying and organising done when this one finishes.

Not got much further with the decluttering tbh.

Luna cut her paw on Friday so been keeping her bandaged then my car broke down on Saturday night.

The most annoying thing is that on Saturday morning I used my last £600 from my savings to overpay my mortgage. Really hoping it's not too bad. Had to call 7 garages before I could get anyone to agree to even look at it. They're all so busy and a lot of them are off for Easter break now.

I've got some money in my purse, Mum owes me money and I get paid tomorrow. Just awaiting the call now to let me know what's wrong with it.

That sounds so frustrating! Amazing work with the overpayments though and hopefully not too much of a hit to come with the car cost.

    Yeah defo is.

I called the garage just after 5pm, they said oh we were just about to call you. Why do they always say that!

Anyway it needs a new heater matrix and pipes but the parts are discontinued at Suzuki. She said they'd been trying to locate parts online so when I hung up I checked online and found some within a couple minutes.

Emailed them with the link so I'll call them tomorrow around 10am for an update.

Decided to get rid of the car and just get a new one. It's been a bit of a money pit in the last 2 years and I thought if the parts are now discontinued it's likely that anytime anything goes wrong it's going to be off the road for weeks at a time.

I don't have the time to be off the road that long so found a Dacia Sandero 2019 plate with 47k miles for £5,295 so will be picking that up in the next few days.

It's so annoying I just felt like I was really getting somewhere with the mortgage overpayments and in the last month I overpaid £3,600 and now I need to replace the car!

So now that I have no savings I'll have to use a credit card to buy the car.

I've managed to get a 0% offer for 36 months. This will allow me to transfer around £3,100ish, will get a full confirmation when the card arrives.

I'll use my Tesco Clubcard CC to make the initial payment then do the transfer. Whatever is left on the TCCC I'll pay off as quickly as I can first cos that will be accruing interest.
