OK, it looks as if you have to set up direct debit and paperless documents, then you'll be on the cheaper Core plan.1

I know i really need to look at other options i've just been gliding along all these years happy with the profits i've made on shares i've bought and sold. It started with a punt on a few shares then grew and grew and my knowledge didn't . l know i need to look into putting some shares into a stocks and shares isa to avoid tax implications but brain fog descends and i never get round to it. maybe a new years resolution.masonic said:joebob said:
I know i will be better off going to the £5.99 fee but i dont know why they are moving me to the £14.99 fee. I have been with them for 15 years and just go along with what they say out of blind loyalty.masonic said:I mean that you could have joined the active discussion instead of creating a new topic. Are you asking if it is better to pay a platform fee of £5.99 + £3.99 for one trade instead of £14.99 all in?I am obviously misinterpreting your question "I am wondering if it would be more beneficial to move to the core plan at £5.99 ?"It's good that you know that you'll be better off moving to the £5.99 plan. Another option is to move to a cheaper platform.Blind loyalty is never a good idea. Alternative options have been discussed in the other thread.0 -

Lets step back a little. You have just a trading account. You have under £100K in that account.Do you pay by direct debit?Do you have paperless documentation? What evidence do you have that you will be moved to a Plus account in Feb?0

Have you considered Scottish Widows (formerly iWeb), a forum favourite who support most funds and exchange traded investments with no ongoing charge, free regular investing and £5 for adhoic trades?

I just had a look at their terms and they seem to support joint accounts but you may wish to check with them.3 -
