I've had the email from ii about the new price plan i am currently on the £11.99 fee which will increase to £14.99 I have a joint trading account with my wife with 60k worth of shares nothing else and buy or sell on average once a month. I am wondering if it would be more beneficial to move to the core plan at £5.99 ?

There is plenty of discussion of this in the ongoing thread at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6645059/ii-new-platform-plans-2026

Yes i've read the thread. But there's nothing really specific to my question.0

I mean that you could have joined the active discussion instead of creating a new topic. Are you asking if it is better to pay a platform fee of £5.99 + £3.99 for one trade instead of £14.99 all in?1

Because it doesn't come into effect until Feb next year.I've assumed that portfolios under the new limit of £100,000 will move automatically to the cheaper core plan. But I'm not ii so I can't guarantee it.0

I know i will be better off going to the £5.99 fee but i dont know why they are moving me to the £14.99 fee. I have been with them for 15 years and just go along with what they say out of blind loyalty.masonic said:I mean that you could have joined the active discussion instead of creating a new topic. Are you asking if it is better to pay a platform fee of £5.99 + £3.99 for one trade instead of £14.99 all in?0 -
Yes, we're on that with an ISA, and coming close to the £50k limit, so a jump to £11.99 would be a big rise. The new £100k limit makes the extra £1 a month very palatable - and better than Vanguard for instance.0

Another option is to move to a cheaper platform.Blind loyalty is never a good idea. Alternative options have been discussed in the other thread.1
