Arnold Clark crash repaired car

Thanks for all the feedback.
I am not implying any malice on Arnold Clarks part. It seems that both they and my sister have bought a car with a hidden past.
I am. Not sure if the repair to the 'rubber snake' was just a recipe in to position but it is obvious they did not check that everything served by said wiring loom functioned after their repair.
The fact that my sister took the car bag to them for this soon after purchase may be in her favour.
However, how does one prove a repair is more than, rather than less than, 7 months old?0 -
How did she notice the loom was lose in B Pillar?doningtonphil said:Thanks for all the feedback.

They show more than just write offs, insurance accidents claims and potentially photos of the damage. But yes, if its taken for repair outside of insurance then there will be no record. You wont know unless you get the report.born_again said:
These only show write off.littleboo said:Have you done a vehicle check with Car Vertical or similar to see if there is any history of a crash?
If a person repairs a car outside ins's then nothing will show, same as any ins repair. Just the same if it is damaged pre delivery.0 -
It is the rubber snake from.the b pillar to the door was detached from the door, exposing the wires.born_again said:

Do you mean its the rubber sleeve that goes from the B pillar into the inner edge of the door which contains all the wiring for the door functions such as lock, window, etc.doningtonphil said:

So presumably all the did a few days after sale was reattach the rubber sleeve? If that sleeve is off, is the previous repair etc obvious or was this only visible with the door panel off? Had the door ever locked?0 -
Yes, that's the one visidigi. My sister sent a photo. It looked an easy fix to clip the rubber hose into the hole in the door. But would it have made sense for them to check if the wires within it had not been disturbed?
Anyway, ultimately it seems that AC abd my sister have been the victims of buying a repaired car with axfault more than likely caused by/not fixed by the repair on the door.
It seems unfair my sister is left to pay the over £300 abd counting for MG to fix it0 -
That’s nonsense.littleboo said:

How can they attribute some botched door-internal work as being "crash damage"?1

I think the presence of a ball of masking tape with overspray paint on it has lead them to that conclusionprowla said:How can they attribute some botched door-internal work as being "crash damage"?0
