    Just email
    Email is not an issue
Emailing a formal document is absolutely an issue as emails are unsecured and bounce around a number of servers between my PC and theirs and can very easily be intercepted.

    So no, not emailing.
Sorry you are taking yourself down a rabbit hole when there is no need
I am afraid that being difficult achieves nothing.

Leaving aside the ID request, they are obliged to deal with SARs which are made by post.

No, I'm protecting my own data...data protection is not just the job of everyone else, you know.

There is no 'being difficult' here or any 'rabbit holes', there is just being safe.  Even the government advise never to email ID to anyone.

If I'm 'that bothered'?  What, from enforcing my statutory rights??  Really???

With all due respect, if you have nothing sensible or constructive to add, may I suggest finding another forum.

Yes.  I offered to post, and they said, 'No…only by email.'
    Which is no problem
Don't make an mountain out of a molehill
Your opinion, as is your right, but you're wrong.  All (decent and authoritative) advice is to never email personal IDs as it can (and absolutely does) lead to ID theft.  If you want to publish your personal details to all and sundry, then please, be my guest...it's your right, but I'm not following you over that cliff.

This mountain is one that they created.  So please, stop trying to make a molehill out of a mountain.
