DCBlegal/ eurocar park likelihood of discontinuation

I have a court hearing regarding a claim issued by DCBLegal for 2x eurocarpark overstays on Tuesday. I’ve filed a defence and witness statement etc however I’ve seen on these forums DCB Legal rarely ever go to court and always discontinue but usually before paying a hearing fee. In mine they’ve paid it and it’s the higher rate as the claim is for £500 something. They’ve also filed their bundle etc. does this mean it’s likely to go ahead or is there still hope of them discontinuing?

The latter,  same as the 730 in this tally thread

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6377263/dcb-legal-record-of-private-parking-court-claim-discontinuations/p148

But their client MAY push it to a hearing due to the figures being towards the £600 threshold

That one seems to have been discontinued around a month before the hearing. I can’t find any examples of discontinuation close to the hearing. Living in hope though

There's 730 discontinuations in that thread of shame,  not just one, with varying timescales between the discontinuance notification and the hearing date
  • The problem DCBL has is a MISLEADING CLAIM whereby they add FAKE amounts and call it DAMAGES ??  For Euro, no damages are applicable, it's a DCBL fabrication wrongly thinking that the BPA known scam, the OSNER scam is legal. Again it's just a fabrication.

Will DCBL take a fake claim to court because judges are well aware of their rubbish. The courts are well aware of the timewasting tactics of DCBL.  The answer is ...... will DCBL take a scam to court and be spanked whereby you can claim costs

You DO NOT owe the amount claimed, it's a scam

Most of the "discos" are for single charge events  -  yours seem to be more than one hence:-

  • By way of update I won half the claim and lost half as one parking charge was upheld and the other was dismissed due to their failure to apply grace periods. Owe the a$$holes £260 now including costs :(

Oh bad luck. That's very rare. Why £260? The added DR fee was false, double recovery.

Did they send a rep or did the judge look at their paperwork and only hear from you?

They sent a slime ball of a rep. The 260 was the 100 fine, £5ish interest and then the rest was their costs- legal rep, hearing fee and claim fee think they latter 2 were a higher rate because their claim was for 2

The fees should have been reduced to the rate for under £300 and the legal rep doesn't get his costs.

However, I don't think he got his costs. Sounds like:

    £100 PCN
    £70 filing fee
    £50 capped legal fees
    £35 hearing fee
    £5 interest.

Yes that sounds about right they didn’t break down the fees in court but they were in the region of 160..
