O2 price hike airtime cancellation - a saga
So I thought I would exercise my right to cancel due to the price rise and that has turned into one epic saga.
Getting through to someone in the first place was the first challenge, eventually I got through to someone changed my airtime plan and expected to continue to pay the device plan monthly as per the correspondence allowing me to cancel. I didn't think anything more of it.
A few days later I got a letter demanding payment of my device play of like £490 and threatening me with debt collectors and a mark on my credit score if I didn't pay.
After going through all the kerfuffle of getting to speak to someone I was literally told there's nothing they can do til they bill me the money, I explained this can't happen as its not something I can afford, they stood their ground and told me there's nothing they can do til the moneys been taken after that they can setup a monthly direct debit (which again made no sense) so I realised I wasn't getting anywhere with these guys and gave up.
Fast forward a few weeks, I got a random call from O2 and this guy explained to me that I appear to have 2 accounts a new one with my air time and my old one with the device plan and I could continue to pay them both separately and the guy I spoke to would escelate my complaint and get both under one account.
This was not the end of the saga 😂 last week I received an email saying my account has been randomly credited with £490 (the cost of the device plan) and today I received a final device plan settlement saying my credit agreement has come to an end.
I'm just worried this isn't going to be the end as that's one hell of a generous solution to all this, all I know wanted to do was continue to pay it monthly.
Has anyone else had this are O2 gonna come after me for that money?

This is why I didn't cancel mine as I have two device plans with them (iPhone and an iPad Pro), I knew it would be hassle cancelling as I had read they demand payment for the devices, which shouldn't be the case as these are separate loans. Hope it's all settled for you though!0

It appears to be, device plan has been settled, but I was bought up to believe that if something is too good to be true it probably is and that definitely falls under that!MrSilk said:This is why I didn't cancel mine as I have two device plans with them (iPhone and an iPad Pro), I knew it would be hassle cancelling as I had read they demand payment for the devices, which shouldn't be the case as these are separate loans.
