Rejection process for Jaguar F Pace

I bought and picked up my new Jaguar F Pace on 22nd November 2025 and the next week I realised there was a huge oil leak out the bottom. The car got recovered and dropped off to the Jaguar LandRover garage on 1st Dec 2025 where it is still sitting without even been looked at. Has anyone had anything similar, what are my rights? Surely they can't get off with this!! The car was only 2 years old with around 29K miles on the clock

Have you told them about wanting to reject it? That would be the first thing to do.0

Are you wanting to reject it or have them fix it? It's not clear from your post. If you are rejecting it have you actually told them that you are?
They should repair it in a reasonable timeframe without causing undue inconvenience. The reality is we are in the lead up to the feastive holidays and garages will be swamped with everyone trying to get stuff done before the garages close for the break.0 -
It is not that unusual for a garage to take a few weeks to be able to look at a car.Reni2019 said:I bought and picked up my new Jaguar F Pace on 22nd November 2025 and the next week I realised there was a huge oil leak out the bottom. That has no relevance to anything.Reni2019 said:Has anyone had anything similar
That depends what you want. Do you want them to repair the vehicle under warranty, do you want them to repair the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act, do you want to reject the vehicle under your short term right to reject?Reni2019 said:what are my rights?
What do you mean "get off with this"?Reni2019 said:Surely they can't get off with this!!
Knowing Jags, it was probably traded in because it had a huge oil leak that was very expensive to fix.Reni2019 said:The car was only 2 years old with around 29K miles on the clock
You need to decide if you want to try and get them to fix it, in which case they can pretty much take as long as they want, or if you are going to reject the vehicle for a (nearly) full refund.0 -
yes I have, I told them on the phone last Friday and also emailed them today but it seems to have been ignored both times!Aylesbury_Duck said:Have you told them about wanting to reject it? That would be the first thing to do.0 -
Did you specifically state, in writing, that you were rejecting the vehicle under the short term right to reject as specified in the Consumer Rights Act because the goods (vehicle) is faulty, or did you say "I don't want the car any more" or something similar to the latter.Reni2019 said:

Was this a JLR main dealer, a normal dealer, or some man trading as a "dealer"?0 -
I wrote in an email that I am now looking into the rejection process. I have never had to reject a car before hence why I am posting this thread for advice. I would absolutely have preferred them to get it fixed but now that it has been sat in there garage for longer than it had ever been in my possession I want to potentially reject it. This car was bought from a JLR main dealer.MattMattMattUK said:

No, I worked in motor insurance though so often came up against challenges at this time of the year when dealing with claimants and garages being fully booked.Reni2019 said:

I think any help you’re looking for now may be thin on the ground.6 -
My local garage and the local dealer both always have at least 3 weeks waiting lists.0
