Modem/TV/Wifi

Senario/ House with brick walls. Downstairs roomA with 3 yr old TV/Sky. Room B downstairs 2 brick walls fromTV. Has new modem (uw) and computer. 3 Google nests one inA one in B, one upstairs (never a problem).
Problem... The TV keeps saying I have no internet/wifi connection. (THE GREEN LIGHTS ARE ALWAYS ON ON THE MODEM). I have to fiddle with long winded passwords to reset TV. SOMETIMES the 2 downstairs will cut out temporaly. (Green lights still on)
Speed test says 10 ping download 40
Do I need to get a hardwire router to tv?
Di I need a 'booster' (which? connect where).
I just want the bloody TV to stay on !! Thanks for any help. No gaming. Just me in house. Nothing excessive/unusual.

Does sound like a simple matter of crappy Wi-fi to TV.
As a baseline can you do a speedtest? Is the computer hardwired into the router? If so see what it says when you go to fast.com.
Any way you can position the router more optimally, higher than the soft furnishings and away from walls is best.
After that you might consider a mesh system - UW will add a couple of Eero repeaters to your package for £5/mth.
They cost about £80 (new, cheaper recon) each or there are cheaper systems available.
A powerline system using your mains wiring from router to TV room might work if you have modern-ish ring-mains wiring. About £20 to £50, depending on if it's a make you might have heard of.

thanks. So I would plug this in near the tv. Does a phone line have to go in the bottom?? (phone line is next to computer/modem, in another room)0

One device connects to the router via ethernet, one device connects to the TV via ethernet. Both devices plug into a mains socket. Or the TV end can also act as a WiFi access point.0

Powerline adaptors normally come in pairs.Plug one powerline adaptor into a socket near your router. Plug the other into a socket near your TV.Connect an Ethernet cable from the first adaptor to a spare socket on your router. Connect another Ethernet cable from the second adaptor to the Ethernet connector on your TV.If possible, plug the adaptors straight into wall sockets, not extension leads. And definitely not extension leads with surge suppressors. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
You can buy powerline adaptors with a pass through 3 pin socket, this means that you don't lose the power socket. I have 4 of these for 2* TVs, a desktop PC and the router itself.0
