    Sometimes they will let you continue cover excluding the new condition. Worth asking.

    An annual policy for a couple I know was less than £100 in 2020 and now with the addition of two medical conditions and an extra 5 years on the clock is £3 under £500..... 
    We used to pay about £400 for annual insurance but as my wife had a major issue in the UK our annual insurance is nearer £1200 ,we have a choice ,pay it and travel or stay at home. :)
  • Thanks for all the responses, I don't feel so 'hard done to' now.   I did look to cancel and rebook (original insurers were happy to make a pro-rata refund without fees which I thought was good)  but no other insurers beat the revised quote, so I stayed with them.
    Just the cost of getting old I guess.  BOO!
