Well spotted, thanks a lot for all the help. I've just had a look on google maps and it seems there are 2 parking areas at the venue. One is a "pay and display" which is advertised as for the public to use, the other is the venue's own car park for "members and visitors" which is where I was parked, there is no option to purchase a ticket for here. There are parkmaven signs in both car parks and it's quite well signed. I assume members note their car reg number at reception or on regestration and then don't recieve a fine. I'm sure there is some kind of defence I can use there.
Having had a look at some of the threads on here it seems DCB normally wait until the hearing fee is due and then discontinue. Looks like I'll be waiting a few months then!0 -
I agree. add the above to your para 3.GJR2591 said:Well spotted, thanks a lot for all the help. I've just had a look on google maps and it seems there are 2 parking areas at the venue.

Don't mention the word "fine " because it's an invoice, definitely not a fine3

Hi, this was what I said. Basically the exact wording you recommended, I included it in para 3 along with some other things.
The Claimant has failed to specify the facts including 3
different dates of 3 purported events. Stating vaguely: 'dates of
contravention are between 25/05/2025 and 30/5/2025 (5 days apart)
leaves at least one of the charges unpleaded, and fails to comply
with Part 16.
I still haven't recieved a directions questionnaire. I believe they have until 26/01 to issue this or the claim is stayed. Not holding my breath though.

No that deadline doesn't exist. You have no idea when they were served with your defence, by the CNBC.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Update on this claim. Attended mediation in May which was a complete waste of time, but they did offer to settle for nearly half the amount claimed - which gives me confidence they will discontinue before the hearing. I recieved my Hearing letter today, which is at my local court in October. I am slightly worried that they will follow through on this one due to the amount being quite a bit more than some of the other claims on here (around £600). If anyone has any tips for preparing a witness statement and evidence to include I would be very grateful.
Strangely enough, DCB contacted me via email shortly after I recieved the hearing letter asking me to call them, saying that their client were willing to make an offer to end proceedings. This call was again a waste of time as they were only willing to accept £300 to discontinue.

They always try phone calls.
You should prepare a WS and evidence because there's a chance it could go to a hearing, so read post 2 of the NEWBIES thread about that.
