Invest Engine S&S ISA Precious metal ETFs paused

Invest Engine has paused any new buying of precious metal ETFs, this is due to a FCA permissions review. It seems you can hold or sell precious metal ETFs but cannot buy now.
I stumbled across this accidentally and had it confirmed via email from Invest Engine. I can't remember being informed by them which would have been the decent thing to do.
