Replace bath to a shower tray

    Maybe you can do it in a way that will make it easier to put a bath back in if/when the house goes on the market?

    Does the bathroom look decent enough right now, or is it a bit grotty?  If it looks okay, I'd be tempted to give it a good clean and quick 'style' (put out your best towels, put away all your toiletries etc) and then take some really good photos of it.  Then if you want to sell in future, you can show any buyers who are concerned about the lack of bath that it does fit one and how it would look, then they can just price up the work.

    We have a tiny bathroom so we replaced the bath with a shower.  It's made daily use of the bathroom so much nicer (although we do have a larger bathroom with a bath), but if I hadn't seen it with a bath in, I'd probably not believe you could fit one in there now.

    I wouldn't be too bothered about future sales, unless you're selling it in the next 6 months/1 year. And that would be more to do with wasting money on the changes, than anything else. 

    You need to have a house, that functions well, for you and your family, right now. 

    Not everyone buying a house has little kids. It might even appeal to more people, who also hate getting into a bath (me for one).

    I changed ours over to a nice walk in shower. We had a bath that no one used with a shower over. All the plumbing is still there if someone wants to change it back, but now I've got a nice walk in shower that you don't have to step over a bath to get in to. I put a Mira platinum up in the loft, so the plumbing was relatively simple.

    The bath was not very nice, and nobody used it. If I'm that desperate to turn it back then it wouldn't take that much, relatively. And the house is for me and my family to live in, not a future buyer.

    That is exactly what I’m looking for as mentioned appreciate the advice and views yes for me doesn’t really worry me who my house appeals to further down the line I’ve been here 23 years and the house next door sold for £250k the most any 2 bed has gone for on this street with no bath in the same breath yes it might put families off but not all houses appeal to everyone I guess.

    The bathroom itself isn’t to shabby but the bath is old and we all hate it so think I’ll definitely do it after Xmas I’m over the in-laws and I’ll try see if he doesn’t mind watching over us while we attempt it lol.
