OMG...Soda water. Why haven't I come across this before? My mum bought some when she stayed as she says it cures her heartburn. I tried some she left behind a few days ago and it's awesome!!!!
I love coke (even though I also despise it's teeth rotting abilities) and if there's some in the fridge I'll always have a swig but I'm converted to soda water now. Same sharp bite and burn as a chilled glass of coke, but no calories / sugar / mind bending E numbers.
£1 for 3 x 1 Litre bottles from Asda at the moment. (although I know the fundamentalist DFW's will shout me down for not drinking tap water).:D
Something this good must have a downside though....anyone know of one?

They now have Rocks organic orange juice at £1.78 a bottle makes 5litres..but i only give my kids a very tiny amount and topped up with water.

What's in the ingredients? Is it real soda water?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

All it says on the bottle is:
Carbonated Water, Sodium Bicarbonate.
Nil Fat, Nil Calories, Trace Salt
All the Protein / Carbs / Fibre are listed as NIL (Apart from Sodium, which says trace)
Suitable for Vegetarians
Store in a dry place (?)0 -

Not sure which one you mean. I know aspartame is something the food industry promises us is safe, (yet we all know deep down that its not) and I think it's in nutrasweet. May be wrong about it....just get that 'where theres smoke theres fire' feeling about it.

Yep, that's fine. It's actually pretty good for you. Even the amount of sodium is negligble for the sodium-sensitive hypertensives amongst us..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I tried to get my daughter to drink it, but she said 'bluergh, it's nasty' - BUT THERE'S NO TASTE TO IT!!!!
I think it's a perception thing. I'm gonna do a Pepsi challenge on her. Blindfold her, put a glass of soda water and a glass of coke in front of her and see if she can tell the difference....0 -

Phenylalanine is a constituent of aspartame. Not sure about the cancer-causing one - could be anything..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Could you make your own by getting a soda stream machine?
As it is just water and bubbles.
So you'd just need the machine and the gas canisters to make the bubbles (no syrups for flavoured drinks)0 -

Stick a little fresh orange juice in it. Tell her it's low alcohol vodka."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
