Thank you. I have ordered the one with the four options. Most helpful.Slinky said:
We have the large one on the left of that selection that works very well on most jars, not sure I've tried it on bottles.Make £2025 in 2025

I don’t know if it applies to bottle tops, but if you have a tight lid on a jar, breathe out from the stomach while unscrewing it and it’s much easier.Hat tip to the amazing Hannah Fry who posted about this (and explained the physiology)
A google will confirm!1 -
I have the same problem with those bottles. The still attached lids also get in the way when trying to pour. I cut the lids off. Strangely I have found myself quite capable of recycling the bottle & lid without them being attached.2

Perhaps a walk on most beaches to view the vast amount of plastic that is thrown away into our eco-system might indicate why this simple solution was required.
Perhaps we could now start adding simple little devices that assist with pouring!
But these all increase the cost hence I'm in full agreement with @Rodders53 that you can't beat Corporation pop:For water Mk1 kitchen tap is best

I have the Brabantia one, also excellent, and fits all tops I've encountered
They are designed to snap fully back horizontal & rotate so you can move them out of the way, which is what i do, there is no need to cut offbadmemory said:I have the same problem with those bottles. I cannot explain the mechanical position, but clearly, increased torque is required to remove the screw threads, which are now split. It is similar to removing two nuts from a bolt with a spacer between the two.Albermarle said:The fact that the lids are now attached to the bottle, should not make it more difficult to unscrew them.
However I have the impression that it does for some reason. Or maybe my grip is not what it was ….I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".1 -
Thank you. That one has now been delivered to me.GrubbyGirl_2 said:I have one of these - works well for all sizes and cheap as chips
