Smart parking court summons

I have just recieved this summons. I was actually not the driver of the car at the time, I was overseas. I do know who the driver was but wont be inclined to disclose the details.
The car park in question is a free car park in retail park. The free period i believe is 3 hours and I think the driver went over the free period by 10 minutes.
The penalty is from 2024.

You don't have a summons.
That's a bog standard Smart Parking Claim form as seen on hundreds of threads. Yep we have hundreds this year.
Copy one!
We even have a Smart Claim group thread which I won't link. Search the forum. Please no asking us to check the defence; this is why we have the group thread.

With an issue date of 03/12/25 and providing you complete the AoS after 08/12/25 and before 22/12/25 your defence deadline date is 4.00 p.m. on 05/01/262

I reside overseas majority of the year (11 months out of 12) . Do I put my overseas address? The property they have on file is my uk address.
Due to having financial ties in uk ( mortgage), I dont want to get a ccj and changing address may causes postal issues.
If I am asked to attend court this will however be a major issue for me.
Should I declare new address as overseas or keep as is?0 -
There won't be a hearing.
Keep the UK address.
You will need someone in the UK opening your post every week until DCB Legal discontinue.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I sold the car around that time but dont have any proof of the sale, only that I wasn't in the country at the time.
Looking at the defence on the forum, it says ;"The vehicle is recognised and it is admitted that the Defendant was the registered keeper"Given what I've explained above would it be best to re-word it to;" The vehicle is recognised however the defendant cannot confirm being the registered keeper as the vehicle was sold and defendent overseas "
or is this too much unnecessary detail?0 -
Yes you can change that bit.
It will end up discontinued anyway.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Altered that to make more sense, also removed the air quotes , " " , not allowed on MCOLleyle88 said:I sold the car around that time but dont have any proof of the sale, only that I wasn't in the country at the time.

Also why is it recommended to wait 5 days to complete aos and then wait a further period to submit defence.
Can I not just complete both as soon as possible? Im worried I will forget to do this later.0
