Actually, I think the specification of the TV bought five years ago for £1200 would be similar to one costing £400 now.[Deleted User] said:

We had a TV that was repaired 4 times with JL before they eventually caved in and offered us a replacement model or paying an upgrade to a different one. It was a frustrating process.1

I had a TV with a 5 year JL warranty which developed a fault after about 2 years. Repaired under warranty and the same fault appeared about a year later. JL said under their warranty terms they could attempt 4 repairs before other options. Thankfully the 2nd repair did the job.1

we were originally given £1200 to buy another one . The one we chose was less than that and we got the difference up to &1200 as a refund.We were happy with that.After 11 months we got a refund of difference between £1200 and the original cost.So, in the end we got a tv plus refund up to the original cost.My son’s Samsung tv developed a fault after 3 years. it was a known fault . He was given new LG. tv.1 -
The warranty covers a repair until they’re unable to do so or it becomes uneconomical.If they can’t repair, they’ll look at a replacement for you but that will be based on the specs of the TV you purchased. What you bought in 2021 will be much cheaper to buy now. Always take the e-gift card instead of a straight replacement as you can then place a new order for a new TV yourself and you’ll get a new 5 year warranty. The value of the e-gift card will be based on the closest spec available to what you originally purchased.You can of course claim on CRA instead and reject for a cash refund, however it’ll be reduced to take into account 4 years usage. You’d be lucky to get £400 back.The warranty terms are more favourable after this long.3
