No, it isn't. Consumer rights laws are very clear on the matter. Your rights are with the seller and as molerat has pointed out, a credit provider you might have used. Peugeot has no obligation to you, unless you have a warranty agreement with them.silverchoice said:
Surely it’s with Peugeot when they have sent out recall letters for the very problem we have had !!!!molerat said:Your consumer rights are with the seller and / or a credit provider if used. Stellantis are offering a warranty route which does not apply as that has strict conditions which include the work being carried out at an authorised dealership.0 -
I assumed this forum would help me not do the opposite !Aylesbury_Duck said:

It's a consumer rights forum. How does ensuring you understand how to exercise your consumer rights and against whom not help you? What has anyone advised that has been the opposite of helpful?silverchoice said:

Members can only advise on your legal rights. Retailer vs manufacturer is very basic when it comes to consumer rights. You can of course waste money and ask the same question to a solicitor, but you'll get exactly the same answer.silverchoice said:

Unfortunately we do not actually write the consumer rights legislation, as such we can only give you factual answers based on the law as it stands, not rewrite it to give you what you want.silverchoice said:

But you took the car to a 3rd party garage to fix. Had you taken it to Peugeot. Then they will have acted as per the letter they had been sending out & you have got it fixed as per letter.silverchoice said:

As others have said, this is a Consumer Rights board, not a Consumer Wants board. Everything advised has been factual and helpful. 🤷♀️silverchoice said:

The forum is here to explain your rights - not tell you what you want to hear.silverchoice said:

No one here can re-write the laws of the land; you've been told how it is and it's not really our fault you don't like the answers you've been given.0 -
But I only just got the letter recently. If I had known about the recall in July I would have taken the car to Peugeot !!!!born_again said:

That's unfortunate timing because they sent the letters out in batches. It doesn't change the consumer rights position.silverchoice said:

All you can do is consider some sort of legal action against Peugeot. I think they have it covered off, but for the cost of a stamp, what have you got to lose?0
