New Capita-run Civil Service Pension Scheme - problems (what a surprise!)

I do understand your points flaneurs_lobster, I really do.
I struggle to equate 'Capita' and 'Ethical'. What about the tens of thousands who have been negatively affected by their practices?
History is littered with "Whistleblowers". They are very often remembered as the good guys.
The Government has a site -
My point is Capita's (potentially) bad practices are being funded by tax payers money.

Yet they have potentially thousands of IT literate, experienced ex-civil servants already on their books that could take a few months casual work.

Spot on - i am just waiting for the CPI announcement for sept 2026 to be confirmed on 16th of this month 3.4% most likely and i can confirm my final pension amount before i claim it -i don't want 3 years Alpha and wait 7 more years for that -classic for all of my reckonable service .
i Know what it should be but since December i can't see what they have got on record ,I only got to see for a few moments that i had been a member for 36 years and 705 days lol and yet they state i haven't been a member long enough to produce an ABS ?
Like most people i would check my yearly statement and i am glad i have got paper records going back many a year because i know at some point i will need to speak to a human when after applying i will hear nothing back from Capita like many thousands in the last 10 months .

I do hope that you are not making any assumption that I have equated Capita with Ethical?
Having worked for them, with them and, at one point, engaged them it's not up there with the descriptors that I'd use.

So some good news for me, I managed to get through on the phone and at least I have confirmation that my application form and supporting information has been received. I have also asked for the application to be escalated as it is due for payment in November… I'm not holding my breath on that one

To be clear, and not to suggest otherwise, I am not suggesting that anyone else at all would equate Capita with any complimentary behaviour. Certainly not.
My, perhaps not very clear posting, was to both state that I understood your comments...and then to move onto my own (negative) view of Capita e.g. how they have treated their clients.

Just to point out that none of us here are Capita's clients. The client is that part of the Civil Service which outsourced the administration of the pension scheme.
Somehow I feel we would have been treated better if the client had done a more thorough job of overseeing Capita and the service provided.

Agree...
why no information on telephone waiting times?
why am I unable to work out what outstanding cohort I fall within?
Is anyone actually checking the data provided by Capita or are they just being allowed to juggle the cases & figures to provide positive updates when there aren't any?
I just checked on mine earlier & notice that my request was 'so called' updated on 3/10/26. There is no info on what this update means. The lack of communication makes me think that they have just thrown a date in to look like something has been done. I will be pleasantly surprised if I finally receive a quote after 10 months of waiting for a pension that should have started in May 26.

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -
what you need to ask is who was the govt at the time the contract as awarded and what is there connection to capita. Follow the money!
