    I would honestly just move.

I had so much hassle with them in April, my renewal moved to May!

Hours on the phone to them. Eventually got a good deal, but would have been much easier to just move.

From what i have read they use every trick in book to keep customers on the higher price options, deterring downgrades to cheaper options  , people with Landlines are deterred from switching, and they will charge £7.00 a month for loyal long standing customers who have a BT email address and want to keep it running after switching.

If they cant offer you a package you are happy with, why not go elsewhere? You don't have to buy from them and they can choose what packages they offer.

Its a word of caution not asking for help
Well, to be fair the thread is a bit contradictory then. Yes, you say  "Hi, I just want to make people aware..." but the thread title is "Advice on paying too much....." which is why you have been given advice & suggestions.
Ah that's because you took advice as asking for not providing. In fairness it says neither. Which is why I am clarifying.
