My Church Hall is hosting a Christmas Day Lunch for single people.
We have a large AV screen with built in PC. We have fibre TTC .
We would like to show the Kings 3 o'clock message.
Is the message broadcast live on BBC iPlayer ?
We do not have a TV licence for the premise..

It is broadcast live on YouTube as well deliberately to get around the licence issue.1

You can't use iPlayer without a licence.1

How does that get round the need for a TV licence?Things that are different: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid3 -
I wouldn't worry about the TV licence problem, if anyone arrests you for watching the King's speech it'll be off with their heads.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.2

It doesn't.oldernonethewiser said:pramsay13 said:It is broadcast live on YouTube as well deliberately to get around the licence issue.

That said, I don't think the local church hall is in danger of getting raided.3 -
This is not a legal option to get around the issue, but if you have a tv licence and use bbc iplayer at home then I suggest that you login to iplayer on the built in pc using your personal login details that are already on the BBC database
Some people(without a licence) get caught out because they use iplayer away from home and think they are covered in the property they are staying at. Your email login is what gives you away.
If you don't have a licence at your home then you could be caught out.0 -
There was a dispensation given for public screenings of the Kings Coronation, but not for this event. Rather than using a screen, play the Radio version from BBC Sounds?
NB the PRS people are more likely to want payment for music played at the event, than the BBC and TV Licensing I'd guess.0 -

I knew that but wondered why pramsay13 thought otherwise.Things that are different: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -

It wouldnt if they had used a different email that was not registered at TVL0 -
Another thread that shows how ludicrous the current situation is with regards the TV Licence!1
