    Appreciate it's an old thread, but I've only just become aware of this board,

    I have an interest in whisky. I would never entertain buying a cask - not all casks produce good whisky, imagine buying one, keeping it ten years and it produces a terrible end product. You then sell to the distillery for them to move on where it ends up in a bottle of Bells or Famous Grouse!

    There is also currently a huge oversupply of spirit. Get into the subject and find the hidden treasures, but not to make money. Auctions can be a great source for those long forgotten and unknown gems at bargain prices.
