Australian visa. Delay. Contacts?

We applied for Australian tourist visas mid November. All we have had to date is acknowledgements saying they cannot be finalised. Unable to use immi to view status it wont recognise the ETA application number. We have had no emails. We are due to travel soon.Tried calling australia for update to no avail (2 mins cost £8), also no email contact? Would anyone have a cheaper (uk?) contact please?

The Embassy in the UK doesnt deal with Visas so you need to call their Australian number.

Assuming you applied for a Tourist Visa then they say 90% are processed within 24 days and you are probably circa 14 days in if you applied on the 16th Nov as "mid nov"

Signup to a pay as you go VOIP service, you can then call their helpline at about 2p per minute rather than £4

Just a bit concerned that it will be 10th Dec, and then they require further info, that takes us into Xmas. How quickly do they process " further info"?

    (Thanks for phone info) 😀

How quickly? How long is a piece of string.  It will depend on many factors, not least the number of applications currently in the system.
You say you are due to travel soon.  Hopefully you haven't paid for non-refundable flights without knowing you would have visas issued in time.

Ultimately you are asking to be a guest in their country, you have no right to enter and so they can take as long or as short as they want to.

What class of visa did you apply for? There are very different processing times.

Guess the Electronic Travel Authority (601) didnt work for you for some reason as thats normally same day stuff.
