What happens if Visa declines payment to Lebara?
Hi.
I have a 30-day rolling contract with Lebara. What would happen if Visa declined payment?
For example...
a) If there were insufficient funds available in bank.
b) If card is suspended because of suspicious activity.
c) If card is lost/stolen and replaced with a new card with different number and security number.
Has this happened to any other MSE people out there?

You will be told to pay by other means, then if you refuse you will be cut off, they may also report to a CRA.bat999 said:Hi.I have a 30-day rolling contract with Lebara. Why are you asking these questions, they seem very odd things to ask.1 -
I thought Lebara was a PAYG MVNO with monthly prepaid bundles?
Mine renews 24 hours before it's due so would give you time to re-try but if you're concerned they offer PayPal as an option which can be topped up or have multiple underlying Direct Debit / card payment methods including Amex, Mastercard and Visa.

Iirc there was a thread a long time ago where because a payment had failed (card number changed) the network withdrew the introductory price as continuous payment had not been made
But I think lebara say 'we don't do contracts', you pay upfront with automatic renewal as default. If you don't renew it will revert to simple payg (for calls and texts only)0 -
Yup, I had a payment fail (never did work out why) which caused the offer to be taken off the account.0

Yes, Lebara are notorious for payments mysteriously disappearing which gets rid of any introductory discount but then miraculously the payment goes through when they retry.
Edit: and with the terrible customer service I would never use them again.0 -
They're a rolling monthly contract with no minimum term, not PAYG.Maegi said:I thought Lebara was a PAYG MVNO with monthly prepaid bundles?

Lebara refer to them as 'plans', 30 days paid upfront or twelve month 'subscription'. It would be interesting to hear what happens if someone requests a pac during their 'subscription'. If you don't have a plan you default back to payg rates,JSmithy45AD said:

"SIM-only deals are just a SIM card that comes loaded with a monthly allowance of minutes, texts, and data, depending on the bundle you have chosen. Lebara offers thirty-day rolling or twelve-month subscription SIM-only deals. They do not include a mobile handset, so may be ideal if you want to avoid an expensive handset contract or are considering buying a used or refurbished smartphone instead of a brand-new one. When you sign up for a 30-day rolling SIM-only deal, you are only obliged to make the payment for the thirty days that you will be using the allowance. When this is up, you can choose to either renew the plan for another thirty days, switch to a different plan that is more suitable for your needs, or decide not to get another plan."
