Problem setting my Trading 212 ISA as a payee

I've just opened the Trading 212 Cash ISA and I'm trying to deposit funds from my Halifax current account. When I use the sort code and account number provided by Trading 212 (for JP Morgan Chase) to set up a new payee in Halifax, Halifax notifies me that the details are incorrect. It does recognise the sort code as for JP Morgan Chase though. If I could get through to the next screen I could enter the reference, which presumably is how the money gets to my actual account but the Halifax app is giving me warnings that the details are incorrect. I've used the Trading 212 live chat and they were no help, saying I should contact my bank.

Has anyone encountered this?

Have you tried putting your own name down as the payee?

Have you tried using the Instant Bank Transfer method from the 212 app? This should have the effect of setting up a payee at Halifax (based on my experience using 212 with RBS).

Are you not able to use the open banking option? It will open the Halifax app itself and take the money you entered with you just having to approve.

Not 100% sure about this but I vaguely remember that I had to set up the T212 account as a BUSINESS PAYEE using the sort code, account number and the personal reference.

Edit : The account name is TRADING 212 UK LTD
