I have a Gooloo 1500a that I have had for a two years. At one point it was in daily use due to a failing battery. Has done 8 jump starts in a row without draining although these were not boosted starts. It also has the boost button for drained batteries.

I now keep it in the boot and have got many other people out of trouble over the last year. No issues with charge dropping off in storage.

An added bonus the built in light is really bright.

Think I paid £50 for it but now down to £30 on Amazon.
  • From Dec 2025 Amazon is £35 min spend for free postage so then any of the jump starter deals will be £2.99 more to a local shop without Prime.
Actual Amazon lockers I think are the same £2.99 delivery cost for non prime purchases but please correct me if you know better...

If you have Prime which is £8.99 a month or £95 per year its easy to get 3000A jump starters for £35 or less....so you need to be using amazon to make that worthwhile obviously.

All the brands seem to exaggerate the jump starter specs or power output but of the cost effective brands Gooloo is well known and rated really well by users where Noco is too but has a higher cost .

You can find amazon deals on Gooloo, GrePro and Asperx around £35 or less for a 3000A with the boost feature
Asperx can be less than £30 .
So the unknown brands which are so many pose the question ..what am I actually getting?

If or when these jump starters completely fail which some do.......thats when your going to wish you got a Gooloo .

No, that's been the case for ages.

  • Thats a good amazon info link thanks
  • People dont understand how/what jump starting involves, cheap leads are thin and have weak connections and even weaker croc lips, they are best described as charging leads, they cannot carry 200 amps that starting consumes

connect them, donor-slave, start donor car, rev it to 1200 rpm for 5 minutes to put some charge into the slave/non-starter

or...... buy the thickest leads with strong croc lips, we made a set from arc welding leads anf clips, 20ft long, they carried enough to start a 747 jet

I was undecided between keeping the noco gb40 and sending it back in exchange for the GooLoo.
After the recent posts I think I won't be gaining anything really so should probably keep the NOCO.

As for Amazon - I've 6 months prime for £0 so all that delivery cost doesn't matter to me.

Had to use it a few times now but today was from the lowest voltage: 10.9v

    Wouldn't start it first go.

Tried to start the car - nothing.
Connected the Noco - wouldn't work.
    Tried again - fired up.

I'll reach out to the manufacturer to see if I'm maybe doing something wrong but also posting here as I imagine I'd get quicker feedback in the meantime.

Does the Noco have a boost button.
A lot of jump starter will not work with low valtage.
The boost button overrides this issue.
