Unfortunately it isn't just a matter of time keeping, it is also a matter of the quality of care. The company we employ has a number of carers, unfortunately not all are good and the service that my mother-in-law receives is not consistent.Grumpy_chap said:
Others have suggested suitable devices but I wonder what good can come from this monitoring?NOWSE said:We want to be able to observe the comings and goings of the carers giving care to my mother in law, who is in her nineties, as her neighbours are telling us that they are arriving late and leaving early.
I will have to arrange for the installation of broadband and so I'm looking to set up a camera that we can view over the internet without having to pay a subscription for.
Is this available?
The action seems to be based on hearsay from the neighbours who one assumes are not recording every visitor in and out from your mother (or, if they are, why are they?).
Maybe the carers arrive early and leave early one day then arrive and leave late another, but the neighbours see the late arrival and the early departure and simply think that no actual work is being done.
Have some thought for the job of the carers who have to work to tight schedules and manage the issues of traffic etc., and generally on a low wage.
Before embarking on snooping, which can presumably only lead to reporting, have consideration as to whether the care your MiL receives is actually good or poor. The quality of care is not directly linked to the time spent.
What do you actually envisage you might get out of this?
Whilst the pay of carers might be low, the fees paid to the employers is substantial.0 -
We've got several TAPO cameras dotted around, a couple of motorised pan and tilt ones, an external one on the shed and a fixed. They are pretty cheap - https://www.amazon.co.uk/tapo-camera/s?k=tapo+camera
They've all got a memory card which records and allows remote playback and will send notifications to you you if you so desire.
They dont need a subscription and are easy to set upNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
