On this, the incessant fools have emailed inclusive of an image that shows the driver. Does that not count as a revealing in any way?

Another question that I'm probably not the first to ask, but I'm curious to know anyway…

These cowboy firms are all, to my knowledge, fed by the DVLA. Yet, we're in days of (at times OTT) GDPR. I understand that the DVLA make a few quid out of his, so will happily give data out, but has nobody with the necessary finance/knowledge ever challenged the matter?

In my mind there's surely a valid case to made that the DVLA are breaching and the potential for an order for them to stop doing so?…

No. Read the Information Commissioner's opinion on it.

And no re your other question. There won't be a hearing so they will never see your face to compare it to.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi all, just received a court claim letter today for a smart parking via dcb case from april 2025. Its for overstaying at a drive through fast food chain, parking was free just 90 minutes. I appealed it initially with the template and never disclosed the driver. the court claim is for a single ticket which now amounts to 275.12 with the usual interest 8%. I just want to check is the process still the same for the defence or has anything changed. me and my brother share the same initials and the letter has come on first initial surname only and hes the registered keeper but I was the driver at the same. havent admit anything though like I said just waited it out and now have the court claim to contend with. if this did go to court then would they be specific with the name? my brothers more of a simple guy and would rather just pay it to avoid the hassle but i'm confident I can fight this but he would struggle in court. thanks

You can help him as the Registered Keeper to fight this, but please start a new thread of your own, in order to obtain bespoke advice , especially as its a 2025 case
