Good news , My order did arrive! Good quality too.
Does seem strange though that there is no address on their website , I thought it was law to display an address.
And some other bits and pieces gave me red flags but I was wrong I guess. They have some reviews saying Scam so that spooked me.
But im happy with cosy bear company , and I feel a bit silly now. heh.It is in the UK. They have to show the actual company name (which can be different to their trading name), registered address and company registration number. But so many companies that advertise on the internet are overseas and don't care about UK law. Others are fly-by-night companies that will disappear at the first sign of trouble. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -

There was no address on the thank you note that came in the packet, nothing .
So is it like someone just doing some sort of dodgy side job then? I take it. Pretty sure something fishy going on.
Going to keep an eye on my bank statements for sure. I have learned a lot of stuff from this...so will be extra careful next time i buy something online.0 -
Just to satisfy my own curiosity, what are the regs or the law that requires this, and if a company doesn't do so, what is the sanction?Ectophile said:cheesecake28 said:UPDATE***

Sections 82-85 of the Companies Act 2006 (plus the related regulations, haven't dug those out).Okell said:

Presumably only applies to registered companies, not all businesses.user1977 said:

Hi, I’ve joined the forum because I’m having ongoing issues with this company.
My sister ordered gloves for myself and my other sister at Christmas, and both boxes arrived with only one glove. The company eventually fixed it and blamed new staff, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and placed my own order on 2nd February as I quite liked the products.
Despite their website showing normal delivery times, shortly after placing the order I started receiving emails about delays, along with discount codes. They sent tracking details for my order on the 9th, but Royal Mail never received the parcel. When I messaged them on Facebook, I was told they had “unexpectedly” had to move warehouses. They also admitted my order hadn’t actually been dispatched, despite them saying it had. They also claimed that all orders would be dispatched on Sunday.
I very briefly saw someone had commented on one of their Facebook posts about delays, I commented on it and said that I believed that they might be drop‑shipping and might not actually be UK based or as small as claimed, they deleted the comment and later sent me a random photograph of some boxes. When I responded and said the photograph proved nothing and requested a refund they blocked me.
On Monday evening, I received another email, claiming further unforeseen delays, advising that they had now reduced the costs of the items on their website only this time the email also listed a "registered office" in London, however, the address provided is actually a known fronting address where businesses can pay an annual fee to use it as their registered office - this serves as protection for directors etc as they don't need to register their personal details for the business only this fronting address. In fact if you google it, Companies House struck off 5 companies from the same address recently for not submitting annual accounts, it is the registered address for hundreds of companies.
I have now raised a chargeback and received the initial refund the bank issue pending investigation, but after raising it, Royal Mail suddenly received an item last night which shows an item due for delivery tomorrow. I’m concerned they might send something small like an empty envelope etc just to create tracking proof. I don’t want to close the case, but I really do not trust them. I’m also switching banks next week, which adds to the stress.
