I'm trying to follow the steps to get the barclays £200 bonus. First step it says to download the app to apply for an account. Well I tried that but it won't let me register for the app unless I already have a product with them! So what do I need to do? Im assuming if I open an account normally on the browser and THEN register for the app, I havent done the steps properly and I wont qualify for the bonus?

Anyone who's done this, please let me know how you opened the account, whether you used the app or through the browser? Last day to apply is today so obviously hoping I can get this sorted ASAP.

The first page in shown in the Barclays app after install (once you have given phone call permissions) says "Barclays - Welcome to the Barclays app", has two options:

    Register for the app

    I'm new to Barclays

Are you taking the second option?

You need to do it within business hours when the option to open an account is available to select on the app.

Well maybe not 09:00 to 17:00 but it does look like Barclays limit this functionality late evening to early hours.
