So I just had my metered half-year bill from June to Dec 2025. Absolutely stunned by the following (increased in July):
Retail Standing charge was 4.99452p/day is now 7.48219p/day= 49.8% increase
Wholesale standing charge 15mm was 3.1589p/day is now 4.5644p/day=44.5% increase
Water used was £0.8812/m3 is now £1.1205/m3=27% increase
The water company won't give me a straight answer to justify the increases above the 26% agreed with Offwat. Don't they regulate the standing charges too??
