Does anyone use Fuel Cards for personal use, not just business?

Anybody else notice ads for fuel discount app/cards in last few months on Facebook/Instagram?
Just wondered if anyone has had any experience or used a Diesel fuel card personally or through their work, are they worth it.

Unless you’re a sole trader, presumably you can’t use your business one for personal use anyway otherwise your business employer will get invoiced for it.
And is there not a minimum spend limit on a lot of them which you might not reach on a personal level. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
This is what I was looking at, although there doesn't seem to be anything stopping you from using them as a person though. Will look further into the market anyway, I do 20,000~ miles a year personally.elsien said:Unless you’re a sole trader, presumably you can’t use your business one for personal use anyway otherwise your business employer will get invoiced for it.

I think some of them need a business address just to get started.A random search on a Card comparison site says “Only businesses, the self-employed and sole traders can apply for these cards.” They might only be talking about the cards they are plugging, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it applies to all of them apart from the scams. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Check if using Costco's discount (after paying their membership) wouldn't be as beneficial (plus giving access to the Giant Temple of Dreams).0

Are you asking whether you can use a fuel card provided by your employer for personal fuel? If you are provided with a fuel card by your employer, only your employer's policy will confirm whether it can also be used for personal fuel. If it can be, there will be a BIK liability arising.Bill_Diesel said:Anybody else notice ads for fuel discount app/cards in last few months on Facebook/Instagram?

OR, are you asking whether there are fuel cards available for individuals? If so, you may find the following thread relevant:

I use one for personal use.
An Esso card from a company called Wex, which gives me 4p per litre discount. You normally have to buy the card, but you can get it free if you have a blue light card.
The receipt given at the garage is a full-price one, then 3-5 days later I get an amended receipt emailed to me and the money is taken from my bank account.0 -
I also use a WEX card obtained via Blue light0

I used to have one. But got double billed for one transaction, and wasted loads of time getting it resolved.
I cut it in two and went back to just paying the pump price.0 -
Another thumbs up for the Wex Esso fuel card.
My local Esso station tends to price match to within a penny of the Sainsburys further down the road. So I generally save 3p or 4p per litre. Even more if I put the premium diesel in occasionally.
I have used the card regularly for a few years now without a problem.
I got mine via the Defence Discount Service being a veteran, but Blue Light Card members can get it as well.
